B. Braun Charity Run Raises RM340,000 for Children with Medical Needs

More than a hundred B. Braun employees participated in the inaugural B. Braun Charity Run from 26 February to 2 March 2018 to raise funds for children with cancer and needy children with medical conditions in rural communities. Held at B. Braun Penang’s new running track, 20 teams consisting of 6 runners each team, ran in relay for 3 hours over the 5-day event.

The funds were raised through the collection of pledges based on the number of kilometres ran by each team and sale of Charity Run T-shirts. The total funds raised amounted to RM167,780.69, and was matched and rounded up by the B. Braun Penang Management Board to RM340,000.

The donations were presented to the Mount Miriam Cancer Hospital’s Pediatric Fund and the Penang Free Mobile Clinic by Hope Worldwide during the Opening of B. Braun Penang’s New Production Facilities and Office Buildings on 18 April 2018. 

Winning teams for the Longest Distance Run with 44.25km, and the Most Funds Raised with RM15,100 received their trophies from Ms Anna Maria Braun, President, B. Braun Asia Pacific, during the ceremony. 

Ms Braun, who was present to launch and participate in the run, said, “At B. Braun, we believe in protecting and improving the health of people around the world. The funds raised make it possible for underprivileged and very ill children to afford the necessary medical treatment they need and deserve to improve their health. Together, we can give them a chance at a brighter future.”
