“My Eco Journey” engages 921 students in action for the planet
Bayan Lepas, Penang – B. Braun Medical Industries (BMI) marked a major milestone at the Penang International Science Fair (PISF) 2025, engaging 921 students aged between 8-17 years, through its interactive experience, My Eco Journey. This initiative reflects B. Braun’s commitment to shaping a healthier future and empowering young minds to make choices that protect our planet.
Since 2023, B. Braun has championed a Go Green theme at PISF. This year, we elevated the experience with My Eco Journey, a workshop designed to help youths understand their carbon footprint, the impact of everyday actions, and inspire meaningful change.
Participants explored three interactive zones demonstrating how daily habits influence CO₂ emissions, embarked on a digital learning journey and captured their personal pledges at an AI-powered photobooth. More than just an exhibit, it was an immersive experience to think green, act smart, and spark real change.
B. Braun also reaffirmed its support for STEM education by sponsoring two schools for the Advanced MakerLab programme for the second consecutive year. Guided by B. Braun mentors from our Research & Development Division, students from SMK Sacred Heart and SMK Bukit Jambul showcased impressive projects, earning several accolades.
SMK Bukit Jambul's “DASH Smart Elevator” project clinched the Champion title in the AI: Vision Quest track. In the AI: Machine Vision track, SMK Sacred Heart's “AI Vision Cap” secured 1st Runners-Up, while SMK Bukit Jambul placed third, and earned an honourable mention for being voted the Most Popular AI: Machine Vision project. Additionally, SMK Bukit Jambul’s workshop, “Let’s GLOW”, was voted the Most Popular School Workshop at PISF.
Lam Chee Hong, President, Asia Pacific, B. Braun said: “As a global MedTech leader, B. Braun strives to protect and improve health worldwide while reducing our environmental impact.
