Bayan Lepas, Penang – B. Braun Medical Industries Sdn. Bhd. (BMI) raised RM210,000 through the eighth edition of its B. Braun Charity Run, bringing together employees across functions and borders in support of healthier lifestyles, stronger communities, and meaningful social impact. The initiative will benefit three charitable organisations in Penang: Friends of Childhood Cancer Northern Region (FOCCAN), the Cerebral Palsy Children's Association of Penang, and the Sungai Ara Community Ambulance.
Held over four days from 6-9 July 2026, the charity run united close to 600 employees from across B. Braun, fostering collaboration, healthy competition, and employee engagement while collectively covering more than 3,040 kilometres and setting a new event record of 57.75 kilometres. The participation of colleagues from the Philippines further underscored the initiative's ability to connect employees across borders through a shared purpose.
The funds raised will support the organisations' ongoing efforts in providing medical assistance, rehabilitation services, community healthcare, and support for underserved individuals and families. Each organisation will receive RM70,000. Since its inception in 2018, the B. Braun Charity Run has evolved into one of the company's flagship employee engagement and community outreach initiatives, raising more than RM1.9 million for charitable causes.
"The continued growth of the Charity Run demonstrates what can be achieved when people are united by a shared purpose. It is a powerful example of how collaboration, accountability and a commitment to giving back can create value beyond the workplace. By bringing together employees across functions, backgrounds and geographies, the initiative strengthens the culture, teamwork and shared commitment that underpin long-term business success. As a leading medical technology company, we believe sustainable growth goes hand in hand with creating positive impact for society, and initiatives such as the Charity Run allow us to advance both ambitions together," said Mr. Lam Chee Hong, President, Asia Pacific, during the Charity Run Prize-giving Ceremony held at the company's premises in Bayan Lepas on 19 August 2026.
Also present were Ms. Eva Maegerlein, Senior Vice President, Finance, Controlling & IT, Asia Pacific, and Mr. Christian Kapischke, Senior Vice President, CoE MEDICAL Products & Operations BMI.
