Bayan Lepas, Penang – As healthcare continues to evolve through digitalisation, data-driven innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration, B. Braun Medical Industries Sdn. Bhd. (BMI) and RCSI & UCD Malaysia Campus (RUMC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen talent development, research collaboration and knowledge exchange across the healthcare and MedTech ecosystem.
The partnership brings together academic excellence and industry expertise to create opportunities for applied learning, innovation and collaborative research. It underscores B. Braun's ongoing commitment to sharing expertise, advancing healthcare through innovation, and supporting the development of future talent who will help shape tomorrow’s healthcare landscape. It will focus on medical sciences, medical informatics, healthcare technologies, while providing students with internship placements, mentorship opportunities, guest lectures, industry workshops and collaborative projects. A key emphasis will be on supporting RUMC's Bachelor of Medical Informatics students with greater exposure to the global MedTech industry.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Dr. YongJi Fu, Vice President and Head of Research & Development, BMI, highlighted the importance of collaboration in accelerating healthcare innovation and preparing future healthcare professionals.

The MoU signing was complemented by a Student Immersion Day, where RUMC students gained first-hand exposure to B. Braun through knowledge-sharing sessions, a guided tour of the Aesculap Academy and production facilities, and networking with industry professionals. The programme provided students with valuable insights into how innovation, quality and technology come together within a global healthcare company.
Through this partnership, BMI and RUMC aim to strengthen the connection between academia and industry, helping to cultivate the next generation of healthcare and technology professionals, while advancing research, innovation and knowledge sharing that supports the evolving needs of healthcare.
