Absorption of exudate

The alginate matrix absorbs wound exudate, that naturally contains sodium ions.

Ionic exchange 

Sodium ions replace silver ions in the alginate matrix breaking internal bonds and releasing silver ions.

Sustained release 

Thanks to this mechanism silver ions are continuously released into the wound bed, providing controlled and an antimicrobial effectiveness.

Wound healing in a moist environment​
